Rhoscolyn is an ideal location for a wide range of active pursuits including: kayaking; climbing; sea level traversing; sailing; windsurfing and subaqua as well as walking the Anglesey Coastal Path, bird watching and family beach holidays.
Outdoor Alternative is just 300m from, and has direct access to, Borthwen beach and the stunning local coastline.
Just a 40 minute drive from Llanberis, in the Snowdonia National Park, all the attractions of Snowdonia are easily accessed from Outdoor Alternative.
Activity sessions can be arranged with SurfLines, an AALA licenced provider, to take place locally - please do not hesitate to ask if you would like further information.
Multi activity
Outdoor Alternative is used as a venue for a wide range of activities. Users of the Centre include universities and colleges, schools, companies, clubs and family groups.
Many users arrange instruction through Surflines for outdoor activities including: introductory kayaking; sea-level traversing; climbing; abseiling; orienteering; mountain biking and mountain experiences in Snowdonia. Horse riding can be arranged locally.
All activities can be supported at a variety of levels from novice to experienced.
Outdoor Alternative is a member of Snowdonia-Active
Snowdonia-Active is a recently formed group of independent, freethinking business people from within the Gwynedd, Môn and the rural Conwy area.
We have come together as a result of sharing a common desire to better promote and safeguard Adventure Tourism and associated Outdoor Industries within our geographical area.
We see a need for a unifying group bringing together all the elements that give the Adventure Tourism and associated Outdoor Industries their special Snowdonia magic.
The group represents a broad spectrum of those elements, from Freelance Instructors, Heads of Outdoor Centres and Management Development Companies to Equipment Manufacturers, Retailers and Service Industries.
We believe that the best way to protect the interests of our industry, it's customers and the environment is by coming together to promote and develop the valuable contribution that we make to the local economy.
