Outdoor Alternative Accommodation

Outdoor Alternative has purpose-built accommodation designed to provide comfortable year round facilities for groups of up to 36 in 2 adjacent buildings. There are some facilities for people who use wheelchairs.

The accommodation is clean, warm and well ventilated. The beds are comfortable; pillows, duvets, freshly laundered sheet sleeping bags are provided. The buildings are fully centrally heated and have a wash-hand basin in each bedroom. Showers, washrooms and toilets are either en-suite or adjacent to the bedrooms.

There are good sized common rooms which can be used for working, relaxing and socialising. All of the accommodation is open and available throughout the day.

There are also drying facilities, plenty of parking space and a payphone.

The accommodation is set up for use either on a self-catered or catered basis. The kitchens are fully equipped with food storage space including fridge and freezer space.

For the comfort of customers, smoking is not permitted in the buildings.

The Centre has useful resource materials such as maps, guides, reports, reference and identification books.

The accommodation is primarily for groups although backpackers, independent hostelers and families can often be accommodated. Exclusive use of a building is arranged for groups of 12 or more.
